I purchased my vehicle in another state where I lived last year. Now I live in Pennsylvania and want it licensed here. What do I have to do?
Yes you can do that, you will need the title and/or purchase information from the state you bought the car. Pennsylvania charges a sales tax for the purchase of a car that is to be titled in Pennsylvania. The sales tax will be compared with the sales tax paid from the original purchase of the vehicle. If the sales tax in the state where you purchased it from was less than Pennsylvania you could owe the difference. If the state you purchased the car from does not have a transient agreement for sales tax in Pennsylvania you will then owe all of the sales tax paid for the vehicle to the State of Pennsylvania.
